My Bible Study Style
I love my Bible to be artistically pleasing — filled with colours, space for journaling, and visuals that make Scripture come alive.
The hard copy I use is the Inspire Bible (NLT translation) — one of my absolute favourites! Its pages are designed for colouring, note-taking, and reflection, turning quiet time into a creative expression of faith.
I got mine from a wonderful vendor on Instagram — drop a comment if you’d like her handle!
My Digital Companion
Alongside my physical Bible, I also love using the YouVersion Bible App (available on Android & iOS). It’s perfect for studying on the go, and it comes with devotional and reading plans that help me grow in faith day by day.
I often cross-reference verses between my Inspire Bible and the app. Reading the same passage in different translations brings such fresh perspective and depth — it’s one of my favourite ways to rediscover familiar Scriptures. Also I love to read with the translation I understand, so please use bible translation you can understand, not the one you think sounds spiritual.
The important thing is that you understand what you are reading and if a particular translation does it better for you then use that, my favourite bible translations are NLT and TPT and oh I explore a couple of others too.
Here are a few go-to digital tools for studying the Word:
- Olive Tree
- YouVersion Bible app (my favorite)
- E-sword
My Daily Study Routine
During the week, I start my mornings by reading at least one chapter before anything else — usually guided by a Bible plan on YouVersion, or a verse the Lord places on my heart.
Weekdays are for reading and reflection, but Saturdays are my deep study days. That’s when I slow down, compare scriptures, journal, pray, and just dwell in God’s presence — away from the rush of everyday life.
It’s my time to recharge spiritually, refill my heart, and realign my thoughts with His.
Building a Consistent Habit
Creating a routine and rhythm around Bible study is so important. Like any relationship, what you don’t water will eventually dry up.
Now, here’s a little story that always makes me smile.
Growing up, during morning devotion, my mum would ask us to share what we learnt from the Bible passage we just read. Most times, I had nothing to say — and when I tried, I knew I wasn’t making sense 😅. I was reading just to please my parents, and yes, my mum could always tell!
Then my dad would gently step in after all the scolding and say: “Don’t stop reading. Even if you read it like a novel or a textbook, keep going. Seeds are being planted. One day, you won’t need anyone to push you — the Holy Spirit will take it from there.”
He was right. Today, I can’t go a day without reading at least one verse. If I skip it, I feel that quiet emptiness — like something inside me is missing. Thank you, Daddy 😘. You’d be proud to know your little girl can’t go a day without her Bible now.
So here’s my encouragement to you: don’t stop. Create a rhythm that fits your life — morning, night, or in between. Just show up.
While Bible plans help with discipline, stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Some of the most beautiful revelations come from those unplanned moments when He draws your heart to a verse you didn’t expect.
The real beauty is in the desire to know Him more, not just in ticking boxes or finishing
chapters.
It’s about connection — sitting with the Word until the Word sits within you.
Let it shape your heart, guide your steps, and inspire your day.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105
